赛事概览 Overview

2026年5月3日，2026年第八届大华府华人篮球联赛各组决赛在 Gaithersburg High School 精彩举行。随着最后一场决赛终场哨声响起，本届联赛在热烈的掌声与欢呼声中圆满落下帷幕。

本届联赛设有 U16 青少年组、A组（20+ Open）、B组（35+）、C组（45+）和 D组（55+）等多个组别。经过常规赛和季后赛的多轮激烈角逐，各支球队奋力拼搏、团结协作，充分展现了大华府华人篮球社区的竞技水平、精神风貌和凝聚力量。

决赛现场气氛热烈而庄重。赛事开场由西北豹队员郭能华先生深情演唱美国国歌，为决赛日增添了庄严而振奋人心的氛围。IAABO（International Association of Approved Basketball Officials）大华府地区 Board 12 新任总裁Mike Jones 先生亲临现场并为决赛致辞，从专业角度对本届联赛组织工作和裁判团队给予了高度评价。

On May 3, 2026, the finals of the 8th Greater Washington Chinese Basketball League were held at Gaithersburg High School. With the final whistle of the last championship game, the tournament came to a successful close amid warm applause and cheers.

This year’s league featured multiple divisions, including U16 Youth, Group A (20+ Open), Group B (35+), Group C(45+), and Group D (55+). Through regular-season games and playoff competition, every team competed with determination, teamwork, and passion, showcasing the talent, sportsmanship, and community spirit of the Greater Washington Chinese basketball community.

The finals day opened with a solemn and inspiring performance of the U.S. national anthem by Nenghua Guo of the Northwest Panthers. Mike Jones, the newly appointed president of IAABO Board 12 in the Greater Washington area, also attended and delivered remarks, offering high praise for the league organization and the referee team from a professional perspective.

Coach Alicia Chin Greer（中文名：陈玉梅）：榜样力量，激励新一代球员

Coach Alicia Chin Greer: A Role Model Inspiring the Next Generation

本届联赛中，CYC 队伍的亮相格外引人关注。球队教练 Alicia Chin Greer 是一位杰出的华裔女性榜样，集篮球运动员、西点军校毕业生、美国陆军退役军官、青少年篮球教练和母亲多重身份于一身。她8岁开始打篮球，少年时期常常参加男孩联赛和社区球场比赛，高中时连续四年担任 Stone Ridge School 校队首发控球后卫，并带领球队取得 26胜3负的佳绩，成为《华盛顿邮报》评选的华府地区顶尖女子高中篮球队。

Alicia 后来被美国西点军校招募打篮球，成为第一位在西点军校打篮球的纯华裔女性，也是第一位从西点军校毕业的纯华裔女性。她主修数学并以优异成绩毕业，之后成为美国陆军工程兵军官，曾在阿富汗和伊拉克服役，并率领首批陆军工程兵部队进入阿富汗。

退役后，Alicia 长期投身青少年篮球培养。自2019年以来，她一直担任 Washington Chinese Youth Club（CYC）篮球教练，带领华裔青少年参加本地和北美华人篮球赛事。她不仅传授篮球技术，更注重培养孩子们的纪律性、团队精神、自信心和责任感。她的经历展现了华裔女性在体育、军旅和社区服务中的卓越力量，也为年轻球员树立了积极向上的榜样。

The CYC team drew special attention this year, in large part because of Coach Alicia Chin Greer, who is an inspiringChinese American role model whose life story combines basketball, military service, leadership, coaching, and family. She began playing basketball at age 8, often competing in boys’ leagues and neighborhood pickup games. In high school, she was a four-year starting varsity point guard at Stone Ridge School in Bethesda, Maryland, helping lead her team to a 26–3 record and a top ranking by The Washington Post.

Alicia was later recruited to play basketball at West Point, becoming the first fully Chinese female basketball player there. She also became the first fully Chinese female graduate of West Point. She majored in Mathematics, graduated at the top of her class in the subject, and was commissioned as a U.S. Army Engineer officer. During her five years of service, she deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq and led the first unit of Army Engineers into Afghanistan.

After her military service, Alicia continued her passion for basketball through youth coaching. Since 2019, she has coached with the Washington Chinese Youth Club (CYC）, helping young Chinese American players develop through local and national tournaments. Beyond basketball skills, she emphasizes discipline, teamwork, confidence,and responsibility. Her journey is a powerful example of leadership, perseverance, service, and dedication to the next generation.

On and Off the Court: The Spirit of Greater Washington Basketball

本届联赛不仅是一场场篮球比赛，更是一次社区团聚和体育精神的集中展示。赛场上，球员们全力以赴、奋勇争先；赛场边，家人朋友热情助威、掌声不断；裁判、义工和组织者默默付出，为赛事顺利进行提供了坚实保障从 U16 小球员的青春活力，到 20+ 公开组的速度与激情；从35+组别的成熟稳健，到45+、55+组别老将们的坚持与热爱，本届联赛充分体现了大华府华人篮球社区薪火相传、共同成长的良好氛围。

This tournament was more than a series of basketball games; it was also a celebration of community and sportsmanship. Players competed with full effort, families and fans cheered enthusiastically, and referees, volunteers, and organizers worked tirelessly behind the scenes.

From the energy of U16 players to the speed of the Open division, and from the maturity of the 35+ group to the dedication of the 45+ and 55+ veterans, the league embodied continuity, growth, and shared passion across generations.

秉公执法，篮协裁判为联赛保驾护航

裁判，是联赛公平竞争与顺利进行的重要保障。每一场精彩比赛的背后，都离不开裁判员们严谨专业的执裁和默默无闻的付出。长期以来，篮协始终坚持培养和建设自己的裁判队伍，并不断向 IAABO Board 12 输送优秀裁判人才。

特别感谢篮协新任秘书长于航。在承担篮协多项支持工作的同时，他负责本次联赛裁判工作的整体安排与协调，为赛事顺利运行付出了大量心血与努力。

Referees are essential to fair competition and smooth tournament operations. Behind every exciting game was the professional and often unseen service of referees. Over the years, GWCBA has continued to develop its own referee group while sending outstanding officials to IAABO Board 12.

Songhao Zhang 在本届联赛义工服务中表现突出，工作认真负责、积极主动，获得组委会一致认可，并被评为本届联赛“最佳义工”。他的热心服务和责任感，为其他小义工树立了良好榜样，也为赛事顺利进行作出了特别贡献。

Award ceremony host: Michael Zhao. Michael brought an energetic, smooth, and dignified presence to the award ceremony. His finals-day interviews were also memorable, adding energy to the venue and making the championship atmosphere even more complete. Michael is a true triple talent — referee, player, and host — reflecting the dedication and versatility of the Greater Washington basketball community.

National anthem leaders: Nenghua Guo and Kaiyun Chen. Sincere thanks to Mr. Chen and Mr. Guo of the Northwest Panthers for leading the U.S. national anthem on opening and closing/finals days. This tournament also inspired heartfelt expressions from players and friends of the league. Through poetry, they captured the excitement of the games, the depth of friendships, and the shared love for basketball within the GWCBA family.

A Successful Closing and a Promise to Meet Again

至此，2026年第八届大华府华人篮球联赛圆满落幕。回顾整个赛季，从常规赛到季后赛，从小组排名到冠军诞生，每一支球队都留下了属于自己的精彩瞬间，每一位球员都为联赛增添了光彩。

感谢所有参赛球队、教练、裁判、义工、家长、球迷、赞助商和社区朋友们的支持与付出。正是因为大家的共同参与和无私奉献，大华府华人篮球联赛才能不断发展、越办越好。让我们期待来年再聚赛场，继续以篮球为纽带，凝聚大华府华人社区的热情与力量！

With that, the 2026 8th Greater Washington Chinese Basketball League came to a successful conclusion. Looking back on the season, from the regular season to the playoffs, from division standings to the crowning of champions, every team created its own memorable moments and every player added brilliance to the league.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all teams, coaches, referees, volunteers, parents, fans, sponsors, and community friends. Because of everyone’s participation and dedication, the Greater Washington Chinese Basketball League continues to grow stronger each year. We look forward to gathering again next year and continuing to use basketball as a bond that unites and energizes our community.

The Chinese version of this media report was written by Linghui Li, one of the tournament organizers and a representative of the Greater Washington Chinese Basketball Association. The English version was prepared with the assistance of Evan Li, a tournament student volunteer and an 8th-grade student at Herbert Hoover Middle School.
